Love the earth and sun and the animals,Despise riches, give alms to everyone that asks,Stand up for the stupid and crazy,Devote your income and labor to others,Hate tyrants, argue not concerning God,Have patience and indulgence toward the people.
Take off your hat to nothing known or unknown,or to any man or number of men,Go freely with powerful uneducated persons,And with the young, and with the mothers or families.
Re-examine all you have been toldin school or church or in any book,Dismiss whatever insults your own soul; And your very flesh shall be a great poem…
And have the richest fluency, not only in its words,But in the silent lines of its lips and face,And between the lashes of your eyes, and In every motion and joint of your body.

Religion provides Hope more than anything else, that eternal motivator of Mankind. It is the refuge of the poor, downtrodden, and wretched, those that are destined to spend their lives in poverty. It provides the Hope of something better on the Other Side.
For those more well off, religion provides a voluntary discipline, a comfort during hard times, and again, Hope.
For the rich and powerful, religion provides a means to conduct wars and generally control people, using a layer of righteousness and 'spirituality' in order to justify the most hideous criminal activity possible, not only on individuals but whole nations.
That's why if I ever took up a religion, it would be something immediately beneficial, the effects near-instantaneous, with guaranteed improvements afforded for collection-plate garnishing. On the Other Side, cell phones are not required, so there is no need for Hope to be brandished as an inducement to join. Nor would cellphone worship necessarily lead to war and atrocities. The largely amiable nature of cellphone worship is a demonstration of an almost universal desire for Peace.
Cellphoneism, or Cellphoneology if you prefer, otherwise fits all the requirements of a religion. It is comforting, it is NOT a cargo cult like every other major religion, it provides mercy (a quick call to the ambulance to notify of an accident etc), help in almost any situation, social contact with like-minded religious CP devotees no matter where they may be, all for the correct digital prayer tapped in with the thumb.
The devotees are seen everywhere with heads bowed in reverence, called to worship not in special houses of Man's architectural brilliance but anywhere at anytime in God's universe where there is a tower, not of Babel, but one of communication.
But just like other religions, there are times when one must lay aside devotions and attend to immediate business e.g. the bench-press, or squat rack, as the opening post on this thread refers to.
Some fanatics will not do that. They have lost control. They allow themselves to be dictated to, in a slavish perpetual travesty of what a genuine religion should be, compulsively reacting to every cp ringing tone in a robotic manner, and taking up their e-device to call someone the moment they think of them. That's why I refuse to join the CP Network.
