Powerflex |

I've been using the Powerflex workout with the perscribed reps for the past couple of years and have gotten great results. One of the things that I like is
the simplicity, five exercises per body part prescribed reps and the freedom to put it together how I like. I have built up to being able to do a set of 75-100
push ups between chairs. I had seen something about there being a Powerflex infomercial months ago on the Trans. site, but Big Jim hasn't really shared
anything. Anyone here use this workout with any success?

I think it is on Amazon where you can preview almost the entire book. After experimenting with VRT/KSHD or Powerflex if you want to call it that, I have a few
moves of my own that I've been doing that seem to be very worthwhile for the minimal time put in. I have a dvd called "Stone Warrior" that
gradually builds to 1 1/2 hour dynamic tension (moving tensed muscles) workout, but that is overkill I think. I do some standing rows/standing dips/overhead
presses/tricep kickbacks/lat pulldowns and maybe a couple others, these work very well for keeping my muscles pumped, but not sure if they are making me
stronger or not. Pick up a copy of Harry Wong's Dynamic Tension or Dynamic Strength if you want to see the original version.

From what I've heard, Powerflex is essentially the Charles Atlas course repackaged. If you've been to Zen in the Art, you'll see I've put
together a system of exercise based upon the same principles, and, yes, I've had great success with this kind of exercise in the past, including Kin
Shi-Hai Do.

It is the Atlas course, he just uses stupid animal names, and claims he based the exercise on observing the movement of animals, wich if anyone believes that i
have a bridge to sell u in arizona.

Why did I buy this book when I already have the Charles Atlas System, I wanted to see what ideas I could get and also to motivate me into working out with these methods with a new enthusiasm. The book has many Atlas course exercise but also a few different ones and variations, its very simplified and challenges you to 3 levels of workout. read preview book here... POWERFLEX

I was very disappointed that I purchased this book that it fueled my decision to quit buying fitness books. Consequently, I didn't purchase Isometric
Power Revolution (IPR) when it came out. JP sent me a gratis copy of IPR when, during a telephone conversation, I told him I didn't have a copy of his new
book. IPR is a good book.

POWERFLEX IS THE ATLAS COURSE 99.99%

The Atlas course is the same as Powerflex course they are both good spring board courses or stand alone courses, it all depends on what you are looking for. Atlas had many students who went into weight training and built great bodies and I am sure Atlas was very proud of them. No matter what type of training you do just be smart and train careful. |

I have to say shen is the man, he made his course free, ill give him props for that, hey thinman do u really need some one to tell u how many reps to do? I
mean to me thats crazy , if i have to have some fat fuck (Jim forskin) tell me how many reps to do, and he looks like a fat ass , come on thinmann couldnt u
figure the rep thing by yourself?

I also bought PYTP and found Shen's stuff and wished I would have saved my money. Did buy Ross's Never Gymless and have appreciated it.

That repulsive image of Big Jim exposing his man boobs is a deterrent. I would never purchase ANYTHING with that on the cover. I'm like Pierini these days.
I've ceased purchasing workout books. I know how to perform pushups, DT, isometrics and i'm familiar with the basic weight trainining movements.
Unlike Big Jim and Charles Atlas, I've never found the sight of animals flexing their muscles particularly inspiring - whenever i need motivation i visit
Zuzanna at bodyrock tv.

the few worth hanging onto

I've sold most of my fitness books to resale stores or on Amazon, but the two I've kept were Never Gymless and Wong's Dynamic Tension. I don't
see myself buying any more fitness books. Although I recently ordered a Pilates dvd, so there you go. A fool and his money...

I also have had great success with Dynamic Tension. Powerflex is a good, concise workout despite its rather dubious claims to originality. In the Halls of the
Canegurus however it must be siad:
Everything you need to use DT or KSHD (VRT/DVR, which I highly recommend) is right here on Shen's site. Go in, print it out, and get to work. Ialso highly recommend Shen's workout equipment that he makes for sale. A forthcoming review of the Martial ARts Grip is forthcoming from me:) |

Free browsing of library & bookstore materials is worth the price of admission & may provide some gems. Even watching annoying infomercials like P90X
can result in some useful tweaking
